Voting is one of the most important things you can do for your country. Regardless of who you vote for, I want all Merriam residents to be registered to vote, and have access to vote by mail in case they can’t make it to the polls on election day.

Check your voter registration through the Kansas Secretary of State.

Voter Registration:

If you’re not already registered, you need to register. You have to be registered by October 14th to vote on November 4th.

You can obtain the voter registration form here or from their site. Copies are also available at Merriam City Hall in the front door vestibule, as well as at the Merriam Plaza Library. Print and fill it out.

Then send it to the elections office any of the following ways you prefer:

  • SMS/Text it to JoCo Elections at (913) 953-9539.

  • Mail it to 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, KS 66061

  • E-mail a photo of it to registration@jocoelection.org.

  • Fax it to (913) 791-8931.

Advanced Voting by Mail:

In Kansas, every registered voter is entitled to vote early by mail if they like. BUT you have to ask the election office to mail you your ballot early, before each election. And you have to ask each time unless you have a permanent disability that prevents you from coming to the polls on election day. (A disability is not required to vote in advance.)

You can obtain the Application for Advance Voting Ballot from the election office website. Copies are also available at Merriam City Hall 24x7 in the front door vestibule, as well as JoCo Libraries. Print and fill it out.

Then send it to the elections office any of the following ways you prefer:

  • SMS/Text it to JoCo Elections at (913) 953-9539.

  • Mail it to 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, KS 66061

  • E-mail a photo of it to votebymail@jocogov.org.

  • Fax it to (913) 791-8931.
